Two school children were approached by a man as they made their way to school.
The boy and girl, both aged 10, were walking along Edge End Lane towards St Bartholemew's Parish Primary School in Great Harwood just before 9am on Tuesday.
They were then approached by a man driving a white BMW.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called around 9am on Tuesday to reports of suspicious circumstances in Edge End Lane in Great Harwood.
"It was reported a man driving a white BMW had approached a boy and girl, both aged 10, before making off from the scene.
"The boy and girl then reported the incident at school."
