CARS have come a long way since this 1970s advert.

However during the time of this advert in 1979, this Peugeot 504 Family Estate was the car of its time.

The advert in the Lancashire Telegraph reads: “Drive the Peugeot 504 Family Estate’.

It states that there is room in the car for up to seven people plus luggage.

While it said other models included the practical 504 L and luxurious 504 GL Estate.

Both petrol and diesel versions were available of the car and manual or automatic transmission.

Gilbraith Cars, based in Whalley Road, Accrington, made the advert.

The Peugeot 504 was a mid-size, front-engine, rear wheel drive automobile manufactured and marketed by Peugeot from 1968 to 1983.

Peugeot vehicles on the roads today include the Peugeot 108 and Peugeot 208, as well as the Boxer, Partner and Expert.
