RAIN failed to dampen the spirits of those attending an event in support of Macmillan’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The event at Whalley Bowling Club raised over £250.
Organiser Agnes Corban said volunteers were delighted to have raised the money for such a worthy cause.
She said: "We’d like to thank all those who came along to support the event, despite the bad weather and say a big thank you to Moorings Bakery who donated a special Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning cake.”
Coffee and cake lovers have been taking part in Macmillan events across East Lancashire today to mark the annual fundraiser.
Holy Trinity CE Primary School, Darwen, held a bake off competition and pictured below is Kittie judging the entries.
A spokesman said: "We also had a ‘Pie the Teacher Quiz’.
"The children were asked questions and if they got them all right they got to pie the teacher of their choice – poor Miss Connearn."
Joanna Shaw Barnett sent in the photos below of Mellor Macmillan Coffee Morning. It is the 21st consecutive year it has been held, with a running total of nearly £8,000.
