THOUSANDS of students from across Blackburn were reaching new heights at a careers fair.

More than 100 exhibitors were on show at Blackburn Cathedral at the event which was organised by New Directions careers service.

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust , Lancashire Police, along with colleges and training institutions were on offer to provide advice to the pupils.

Amanda Barker and Helen Andrew from New Directions team said: “ It has been a great success for the careers fair.

“We have asked Year 10 and 11 students from Blackburn with Darwen to come along. There are local colleges and universities and gives them options after Year 11.”

It was open to adults in the afternoon to find out about jobs.
