A TEENAGE girl fell through the roof of a business and suffered arm injuries.

The incident took place on Monday night at 7.33pm on Daisy Street off Dam Side in Colne.

Two crews from Colne attended along with an aerial platform from Hyndburn.

A Lancashire Fire Service spokesman said: "We had reports of a 13-year-old had fallen through the roof of a derelict property.

"She had been playing on the roof with some friends and they had rang it in that she had fallen. It was quite lucky really as it could have been worse.

"Firefighters rescued the casualty using a partner saw and administered first aid at the scene before paramedics took the casualty to hospital. Firefighters were at the scene approximately one hour and twenty five minutes.

"We would urge parents to warn young people of the dangers of walking on roofs especially asbestos ones and also to be mindful of where their kids are."

A North West Ambulance spokesman said: "We were called after 7.38pm to Daisy Street to reports of a teenager falling through a roof.

"The patient was a female and suffered an arm injury and was taken to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

"She was conscious and breathing properly."
