A MAN threw two wraps of cocaine out of his car window when he was approached by police operating in the Bank Top area of Blackburn.

The town's magistrates heard the drugs landed at the officer's feet before Arshad Hussain ran away from the scene.

He was arrested after a brief chase and the police later found another wrap of cocaine at his home address.

Hussain, 26, of Queens Park Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine. He was fined £160 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said Hussain had previous convictions for possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
