A SHOPLIFTER released from Blackburn magistrates with a conditional discharge and a travel warrant to get him back to his home in Fleetwood didn't catch his train and committed another offence.

Blackburn magistrates heard Anthony Robert Eden had come back to his home town looking for his mum but instead got arrested twice.

Eden, 39, now of Warrenhurst Road, Fleetwood, but formerly of Shadsworth House, Dunoon Drive, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to stealing coffee from B & M Bargains in Blackburn.

He was made subject to a community order for four months with 10 days rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to pay £12 compensation, a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Joanne Cronshaw, prosecuting, said Eden was made subject to a conditional discharge on September 4 and the latest offence was committed the following day.

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Eden was in supported accommodation in Fleetwood and had come to Blackburn to try and locate his mum.

"His motivation on the second occasion was to try and raise some money so he could get back to Fleetwood," said Mr Taylor.
