A SPECIAL bible convention is taking place this weekend to mark the bicentenary of a Ribble Valley chapel.
Harrop Fold Chapel was built in 1819 in Grindleton.
Church officials are expecting visitors from around the country and also guest speakers from India, Nepal, Burma and Thailand. Bicentenary commemorative mugs and souvenir pens will be on sale for the event running between August 31 and September 2.
Since 2007 Blackburn’s Rev Norman Pearson has been minister in charge with a weekly congregation of around 15 to 20.
He said: “The convention has a theme of Christian living in the 21st century.
“We get a lot of people who are visiting the area who come to our chapel and people come in caravans to our services."
Anyone looking to find out more information can call Mr Pearson on 01254 274968.
