A POLICE dog came to the aid of officers who were confronted by a drunken group.
Officers from the Lancashire Tac Ops team were trying to seize a vehicle in Accrington today.
A police spokesman said the officers were confronted by "an extremely hostile drunken group from a nearby pub."
The spokesman said: "However up steps PD Koa, who cleared the crowd in seconds."
Lancashire's chief constable, Andy Rhodes, responded to the tweet.
He said: "Too much of this behaviour currently going on in UK, ie loutish aggression towards police just doing their job good to see robust response.
"It is unacceptable and we won’t allow it to become the norm."
