A HEROIN addict was caught stealing within five days of being made subject to a drug rehabilitation order.
Blackburn magistrates heard Liam Michael Daley was seen loading steaks into a basket in Aldi and detained as he left without paying.
Daley, 39, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to theft of sirloin steaks worth £54 from Aldi. He was fined £30 with £32 victim surcharge.
Richard Prew, defending, said the drug rehabilitation order had not had time to have an impact.
“He is hopeful that when the order kicks in it will help him with the battle against heroin,” said Mr Prew.
