An inflatable playground that opened just eight months ago has been shortlisted for a regional award.

Air Unlimited which is based in Craven Street, Burnley, has been shortlisted for the Day Out With The Kids Family Favourites Awards 2019 in the Best Activity Day Out category.

And bosses at the town's first inflatable play centre are now asking the public to vote for them.

Calum Heyes, Managing Director of Air Unlimited, said: "This is amazing news and testament to my team’s hard work since the very beginning of our inflatable park in Burnley.

"We’re up against more established attractions from across the North West in our category so we’re encouraging everyone who’s been to bounce with us to make sure they vote."

Mr Heyes injected a six-figure investment into the former Pegasus Drop Zone trampoline park on Craven Street before opening to the public in December 2018.

The extensive renovation began in late October and from the very first day, the public were quick to find out more.

Mr Heyes added: "On our first day here, a mum popped her head in to see what we were up to.

"She said ‘Please tell me you’re reopening. My kids are going crazy without someone to burn off energy’ and that just said it all to me.

"Burnley needs this as a focal point for families in the area.

"There’s so much good stuff happening in the town and we’re loving being a part of it.

"Winning this award would be the icing on the cake."

Day Out With The Kids is described as the ‘go to’ activity website for parents and the annual Family Favourites Awards received a record number of nominations in 2019.
