Sceptical looking youngsters were in dire need of a raft or boat as they splashed their way to school across flooded Harold Avenue in Burnley.
It follows a day of torrential rain for most of East Lancashire, as the weather took a turn for the worse in January 1980.
A slight reprieve from the snow but still not ideal commuting weather.
