By Jane Renouf:

AMBLESIDE and District Choral Society has a growing reputation for its concert performances, as the society begins a new season of rehearsals. However, to keep this quality and high standard, the society needs new members and a strong number of voices to achieve the challenging works that they sing, as well as helping to generate the income needed to put on concerts that include both professional soloists and orchestras.

Rehearsals start on September 2 (7.15pm) at the Kelsick Centre. Rehearsals last two hours and this season the choir will be performing Puccini’s Messa di Gloria and Bach’s St John Passion as their two main concerts.

There are no auditions required for new members, so those interested in joining or in giving it a try can telephone Michael Corin on 01539- 33944 or turn up on the first evening when they will be made welcome.
