A NEW competition has been launched to find the best shops on the local high street.
For the first round, Chris Green MP is asking his constituents to nominate their favourite shop within the Bolton West and Atherton constituency.
The top nominees will form a shortlist of shops from around the constituency.
Local people will then have the opportunity to choose the best local shop, from the shortlist, in the Bolton West and Atherton constituency.
Speaking about the competition, Mr Green said: “I wanted to run this competition to celebrate the contribution they make to our communities and local economy, as well as to encourage more people to pay a visit to their local high street.”

Nominations for the first round close on Friday, August 30.
Restaurants, cafes and bakeries are not included in this competition.
