A CHILD was discovered unrestrained in the back of a car after it was pulled over by police.

Lancashire Road Police officers pulled over the silver vehicle after they became concerned about the poor condition it was in.

Upon closer inspection they discovered a two-year-old child on the back seat, with no seat belt or booster seat.

The driver also had no insurance and was only using a provisional licence.

A force spokesman said: "Vehicle stopped in Nelson as it looked in poor condition and the MOT had expired.

"A two-year-old child was sat in the back without any restraint and it transpired that the driver had no insurance and only a provisional licence."
