A MAN missed a court appearance for motoring offences because the notification was sent to an address he was banned from by bail conditions.
Blackburn magistrates heard Munir Ali Hussain was banned in his absence and when he was stopped by police was unaware of the disqualification.
Hussain, 38, of Colne Road, Nelson, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified.
He was fined £120 with £32 victim surcharge and banned from driving for seven months.
Mark Williams, defending, said his client had been on bail for matters for which he was now serving a prison sentence.
"The details of the motoring matters had been sent to an address he wasn't allowed to access because of bail conditions," said Mr Williams.
"They were no forwarded to him and not surprisingly he was not at court when he was disqualified. I would invite you to say this is a matter that should be dealt with in a lenient way."
