A FORMER employee of a Blackburn firm of solicitors has appeared before the town's magistrates on fraud charges involving large sums of money paid into his personal account.
Mohammed Khan, 26, of Hozier Street, Blackburn, is charged with fraud by making a false representation by requesting that £21,148 from Aviva should be paid into his bank account which was supposed to be paid into the account of Harwoods Solicitors who he worked for; fraudulently requesting a loan from Harwoods Solicitors to fund a kitchen extension when it was actually used to pay gambling debts; and fraudulently arranging for a payment of £7,487 from Alliance insurance to be paid into his bank account that should have been paid into the account of Harwoods Solicitors.
Khan was sent on bail to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on September 9.
