A CHURCH is hosting a summer concert to help fund its lychgate repairs.
The lychgate at the front entrance of Edenfield Parish Church is an important factor in the church being listed as a Grade II building.
A campaign has been launched to raise the £8,000 needed.
One of the churchwardens, Mark Studholme, raised £1,200 by completing the Rossendale Triathlon, and a member of the congregation, Marika Metiuk, is now hosting a summer concert.
Churchwarden David Foster said: "A very warm welcome awaits on August 17 as part of our efforts to return the lychgate to its former glory."
The concert will be held at the church in Market Street in the village, on Saturday August 17 at 7.30pm and will feature Marika singing a variety of songs.
Tickets for the concert cost £5 and can be bought from David Foster on 01706 825648 or email davidsfoster@btinternet.com.
Tickets for the concert are still available and guests can also pay on the door.
