Thomas Turgoose is set to grace the decks next month as he takes to the stage at Darwen's Sunbird Records.

Best known for his role as Shaun Fields in the 2006 Shane Meadow's film, This is England, Turgoose will perform a DJ set as part of the record label's This is Sunbird Records night.

The evening will also feature live sets from The Jam tribute act, A Band Called Malice.

Sunbird Records' Dale Grogan said: "It's great to get big names like this playing at Sunbird. Most recently we had the band, Idles, perform which was really popular so hopefully we'll draw a good crowd in for this too.

"The night is an ode to all things This is England and should be brilliant for Darwen."

The young actor has just been cast in new film, Creation Stories, on the life of Alan McGee (the man who signed Oasis), which also stars Jason Isaacs and Paul Kaye.

The film is expected to be released in 2020.

The event will take place at Sunbird Records on Saturday September 7 from 8pm until 3am.

Tickets are available through www.Skiddle.com for £9, limited tickets will be available to buy on the door, on the night for £12.
