Two men were taken to hospital with stab wounds after being attacked with scaffolding poles in a late night fracas.
Police were called to the incident on Atkinson Street in Briercliffe at 1.19am on Sunday August 4 following reports a public order offence had been carried out.
A spokesperson for the police said: "It was reported that people had been seen fighting with scaffolding poles.
"Officers attended and two men were found with stab wounds and injuries.
"They were taken to hospital where they are receiving treatment."
A 22-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.
They have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
