A WOMAN who drank more than she planned after a chance meeting with her ex whilst on a girls night out crashed into a taxi as she drove home.

Blackburn magistrates heard Jessica Faye Howe was upset when police arrived and admitted she would be over the limit.

Howe, 29, of Hambledon Terrace, Higham, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.

She was banned from driving for 20 months, fined £120 with £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said police were called after Howe crashed into a taxi outside the Lounge Bar in Gisburn Road, Barrowford.

Duncan Nightingale, defending, said Howe had been through an acrimonious split from her partner and had bumped into him during a night out with friends.

"There was a heated argument before he left," said Mr Nightingale. "She was upset and drank more than she should have done."
