Lancashire County Council will be carrying out road resurfacing in various parts of East Lancashire next week.

The planned maintenance will restore skidding resistance and seal the road surface to prevent water ingress, as well as helping to prolong the life of the road by another 10 to 15 years.

The resurfacing schedule is as follows:

Monday July 22

  • Rossendale A680 Rochdale Road, Edenfield (Rochdale Boundary to Market Street). A road closure will be put in place for this.
  • Rossendale A680 Haslingden Road (Manchester Road to Rawtenstall Spur). Stop and go signals will be operating.
  • Rossendale Haslingden Old Road (High Street to Traffic Lights). Stop and go signals will be in operation.

Tuesday July 23

  • Rossendale B5269 Lewth Lane , Moorside Lane - A road closure will be put in place
  • Rossendale Haslingden Old Road (High Street to Traffic Lights). Stop and go signals will be operating.
  • Rossendale A671 Rochdale Road, Bacup (O/S 391 to Pennine Road). Stop and go signals will be operating.

There will be speed reduction signs in place for the duration of the work and until the final sweep has taken place.

Yellow 'no parking' signs will also be erected before the works start. These signs will provide information on date and time of work.

There will be 'no parking' during the days the work is due to be carried out.
