COUNTY development chiefs have earmarked a new partner to deliver business financing of £11.25m.

GC Business Finance (GCBF) will handle the Rosebud scheme for Lancashire County Council it has been confirmed.

Loans ranging from £10,000 to £300,000 are regularly dished out by the scheme, which focuses on sectors such as aerospace, advanced manufacturing, digital and creative, energy and environment, health innovation and financial and professional services.

One local firm which benefitted from Rosebud funding and advice recently was Rawtenstall-based RCS Doors.

Four new jobs were created by the company, which has an eco-door range among is product lines, when the venture handed bosses a £200,000 grant.

County Cllr Michael Green, cabinet member for economic development, said: "Over the last 30 years Rosebud has helped thousands of businesses across Lancashire to expand by tapping into finance to create new jobs, move premises and invest in technology.

"We’re incredibly pleased to be able to allocate a further £11.25m to support growing Lancashire businesses to achieve their growth aspirations."

Andy Walker, the county council's business growth head, said GCBF already works closely with their Access 2 Finance service.
