OPPOSITION county councillors have accused Tories of caring more about history than the futures of Lancashire students.
And Conservative-run County Hall has been told some Clitheroe Grammar students in Blackburn and Mellor may be forced to switch schools after new transport arrangements were approved.
Plans have been approved to remove funding for services which do not carry pupils with a statutory entitlement to school transport.
County Cllr John Fillis, Labour deputy leader, claims the 860 and 623 routes, running to the grammar school from Roe Lee and Mellor respectively, will be hit by the ruling.
The same cabinet meeting saw funding confirmed to keep open Burnley's Queen Street and Helmshore Textile Mill museums until 2021.
Cllr Fillis said the museums funding could have kept the school services running for two more years.
He added: "The Conservatives clearly think more about the past, than the future of our children. The past is important, but it's more important our children make their own history."
