A SPECIAL charity concert will be held in Baxenden on Thursday to remember a well-known musician.

Trickster will be performing at Baxenden Village Club on Manchester Road. The band is made up of members of The Soundcasters who played for many years with Tony Cooper who died just before Christmas.

Tony played in The Soundcasters with his brother Phil. Phil has decided he didn’t want to carry on without his brother but encouraged his fellow band members to continue playing and they have formed Trickster.

Tony formed The Soundcasters in the early Sixties when he was just 13 and the band enjoyed support slots with the likes of Ike and Tina Turner and Georgie Fame when they played in East Lancashire.

Admission to Thursday's concert is free but there will be a raffle and donations would be welcome. All proceeds from the benefit will go to St John’s Church, Baxenden.

Trickster will be on stage around 9pm.
