A MUM, daughter and friend took the plunge to cut off at least 10 inches of hair each for the Little Princess Trust.

Elizabeth Rushton, 33, her mum, Rachel Rushton, 60, and Elizabeth Burns, 29, had their luscious locks cut off to donate to the children's charity.

Elizabeth Rushton, from Blackburn, said the trio wanted to donate hair to the charity so children and young people up to the age of 24 could regain hair lost during illness or therapy.

The trio donated around 35 inches of hair in total.

Ms Rushton said: "A wig can cost up to £600 and that is a large amount of money to have spare.

"We hope our hair can make the difference to someone out there who needs it.

"We were all excited and nervous to get it cut but we are glad we have done it."
