POLICE in Padiham have welcomed two new PCSOs to its neighbourhood policing team.
Yuwah Cheung, the newly appointed PCSO for the Gawthorpe Ward in Padiham, and Charlotte Broadhurst, the new PCSO for Rosegrove, joined the team a month ago.
Yuwah said: "This new role for me is miles away from my previous jobs, where I worked for a local computer firm, and filled the rest of my time working in a bar.
"When working in the bars, I enjoyed mixing with people but wanted to do a bit more to get involved in helping people in their day to day lives, and I feel being a Police Community Support Officer allows me to do that."
Charlotte, who is a keen runner and also a musician, said: "I've always wanted to work with people, which is why I enjoyed my previous job working with a local council, but I wanted an opportunity to get even more involved in local communities."
