A MAN with mental health issues turned up drunk for an appointment with his doctor.
Blackburn magistrates heard John Asa Price refused to leave the Oswaldtwistle surgery despite the efforts of police and his mother.
And when officers eventually got him outside the Union Road surgery he continued to swear at them in front of children and others on the car park.
Price, 34, of Fountain Place, Accrington, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge.
Damien Pickup, defending, said his client's mental health had deteriorated in recent months and he was going to see his doctor in relation to that.
"He accepts he was under the influence of alcohol and says he had some kind of mental breakdown while he was there," said Mr Pickup.
