BLACKBURN’S motorcycle racing star and TV ‘King of the Jungle’ Carl Fogarty will open the road named after him this morning.
The four-time World Superbike champion, known as ‘Foggy’, will ride on his personalised superbikes along the new gateway into the town from the Red Lion roundabout near M65 junction six to Bottomgate at 10am.
Carl Fogarty Way is the last section of the £4.8million Furthergate Link Road.
The 53-year-old, born and raised in Blackburn, will ride his CCM ‘Foggy Edition’ Spitfire through the ribbon to officially open the new highway, parallel to Burnley Road.
People are invited to watch the opening.
