A man is due to appear in court faced with burglary and criminal damage charges.
Simon Vincent, 26, was arrested on Sunday night after reports of damage having been caused to a shop window.
A number of burglaries had also been committed at small businesses in Bacup.
A spokesperson for the police said: "On Monday, with the support of several members of the community, we were able to obtain evidence that assisted us with securing charges against Vincent.
"He was charged with two offences of criminal damage one on a local business, and one on a residential property. "Also, he was charged with five burglaries, four on businesses in Bacup centre, and one on a small business in Waterfoot.
"We know that the business community in Bacup have been concerned due to recent crime and we hope this result will both reassure business owners and prevent further crime.
Vincent, of Thorn Bank, Bacup was remanded in custody and will appear before magistrates on Tuesday morning.
