A group of dancers have been celebrating after scooping a plethora of awards at a regional dance competition.

Youngsters from Lancashire Dance Academy, who are based in Lower Darwen, competed in the IDTA Nationwide Freestyle and Rock & Roll Medallist of the Year Competition, which took place at Blackpool's Winter Gardens on Sunday.

The annual competition, run by the International Dance Teachers Association sees dancers from across the region compete in heats in order to represent their area at the finals where they'll dance against the best of the dancers in their category from throughout the uk.

With 13 dancers in various sections competing, the Academy took home six North West Champion Titles and 26 finalist results, with every dancer qualified to represent the North West.

Among the winners were Liliana Arnone, eight and Tabitha Swift, eight, who won the nine and unders Rock & Roll title; Kyran Riding-Goulding and Alicia Riding-Goulding, both five, who won the six years and under Freestyle Pairs Champions; Alicia Riding-Goulding who won Rosette Freestyle Solo competition; Liliana Arnone, who took home the Freestyle Solo title; Sienna Holden, six who was crowned Freestyle Slowdance Champion; and Liliana Arnone who won Freestyle Slowdance Champion.
