ORGANISERS of Fence’s annual Open Gardens are hoping to smash the £2,000 fundraising barrier for Pendleside Hospice.
The team raised more than £1,800 in 2018 but wants this year to be a record-breaker.
The Flowerpot Sculpture Trial returns, with villagers working hard on their latest creations.
Hundreds of imaginative designs will be displayed throughout the village, with pupils from Wheatley Lane Methodist School, local businesses, pubs, churches and other groups all taking part in the fun.
Visitors can enjoy lunch or afternoon tea at the village hall before picking up their maps to guide them through the Open Gardens.
Pam Barton, from Fence and Pendleside fundraising group which organisers the event, said: “We are really excited and hope as many of you as possible will either make a sculpture, come and support us or help out in any way possible.”
Route maps – priced £5 each – for the event on June 29 and 30 are available from the Fence Village Hall.
