FIREFIGHTERS were called to a suspicious town centre fire in the early hours of this morning.
Crews from Blackburn travelled to France Court on France Street, Blackburn, at around 4.10am following reports of a fire in a first floor flat.
A spokesman for the fire and rescue service has confirmed that nobody was injured but added that an investigation has been launched into the circumstances of the fire.
He said: "The cause of this fire appears to have been deliberate and we will be working with the police to investigate it."
Firefighters were on the scene for around two hours and used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a ventilation fan to extinguish the fire.
