A PUZZLING sight for anyone interested in the fortunes of Accrington Stanley and their Peel Park ground.
The mystery depends with the knowledge this scene was captured in November 1988 - long after turnstiles had clicked round for the last time.
This picture was taken for a Sunday newspaper, which was looking at what happened to the ground since it closed.
The young lads did not seem to mind since they were too busy re-living the last cup final at Wembley in their own minds, no doubt dreaming of a career at a top division side.
Peel Park was home to Accrington Stanley between 1919 until their dissolution in 1966.
The ground's record attendance was set in a friendly match against Blackburn Rovers in 1954 at 17,634.
