A HOME care service for disabled people has been given a 'Good' rating by government inspectors.
The Blackburn with Darwen council team, which works closely with local hospital trusts, brings together different professionals including therapists, social workers and care workers.
The Home First Service provides support for adults in their own home to promote recovery from illness, swift discharge from hospital, and enable clients to enjoy independent living.
Following a May inspection, it received a 'Good' overall rating from The Care Quality Commission which judged it safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The service's clients are adults, including over-65s, suffering from conditions including dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and physical disabilities.
Cllr Mustafa Desai, borough adult services boss, said: "I am so proud of this inspection which highlights the team's commitment to provide dignified and compassionate support."
