THE CAUSE of death of a man found seriously injured at a village fruit shop remains unascertained.

A Home Office post mortem examination into the death of 67-year-old Harry Morris, who was found unresponsive at S&B Fruits on Water Street, Earby, last Tuesday, took place earlier this week but further tests are now required.

In the wake of the incident, Hayley Fullalove, 49, of Victoria Road, Earby, was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and robbery and appeared before Blackburn Magistrates last week. She was remanded to appear at before a judge at the crown court next month.

When asked if there will be any further charges in relation to Mr Morris's death, a police spokesman added: "Until we get the results of the Home Office post mortem examination and until we know whether there is any causational link between the assault and the death we are not in a position to say and it would be unhelpful to speculate about this."
