A man on a stag do sparked outrage in a busy pub after he bit off a dead pigeon's HEAD.

The group of men were on a pub crawl and visited many bars in a seaside town before one picked up the bird and decapitated it with his mouth before throwing the body away.

Staff at the Wetherspoon's pub were quick to state the incident didn't happen inside the pub, and bar staff who witnessed it called the police.

They say that the stag party were in the Jolie Brise in Teignmouth, Devon, when the male found the dead pigeon on the opposite side of the road.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: "A stag party were in the pub. One of the group found the dead pigeon on the opposite side of the road to the pub.

"One of the men bit its head off, threw the body away and took the head.

"One of the staff reported it to the police and the police caught up with the group in another pub.

"The incident did not happen in The Jolie Brise.

"The remains of the bird were found by staff and disposed of."

A member of the public who witnessed the incident said: "It's disgusting.

"People who were in The Jolie Brise heard that the man had bit the pigeon's head off - they thought the pigeon must have flown into the upstairs bar outside seating area.

"The staff were clearing it up."

Devon and Cornwall Police were contacted for comment but said it could not find details of the incident.
