A CHARITY lunch at Rivington Barn attended by more than 200 ladies raised £3,000 for local charities.
The annual Spring Luncheon is organised by the Lancashire Ladies Fundraising Group, which took over from the Bolton Ladies Fundraising Group when it dissolved in 2016.
Bolton Mountain Rescue, Dementia Support and Bolton’s Fresh As A Daisy charities benefitted from the enjoyable event. Pianist Guy Porteous entertained and a variety of stalls sold everything from cup cakes and perfumes to fashion, skincare and handbags.
After a three-course lunch, Jennifer Smith from Safeguarding Today gave a talk on her years working as a London barrister.
Since the new group began, it has raised money for charities including Urban Outreach, Wigan and Leigh Deaf Children’s Society, Fortalice and The Samaritans in Bolton.
