One man died and five others were left injured when a section of a factory roof extension they were working on collapsed.
This picture from our archives shows the aftermath of the incident, which happened in January 1980, on Burnley's Heasandford industrial estate.
Some of the men were buried under debris and rubble and a giant rescue operation was mounted by the emergency services.
