SECTION 106 cash from a housing developer is to be used to buy up two homes and rent them out at an affordable rate.
Ribble Valley Council has struck a deal with Moss Care St Vincent’s to enter into a lease once the properties in Longridge have been bought to manage them on a day-to day basis as well as carry out repairs.
Seven potential properties were inspected in Longridge with a view to purchasing two units.
Two properties suitable for the scheme were identified and the proposal is that on completion, the local housing allowance rate for Longridge would be charged as the affordable rent level.
The capital cost of the proposal is estimated at just over £232,000, with the houses valued at £95,000 and £118,000 respectively.
