POLICE were quickly on the scene when a drunken man caused a disturbance on the Haslingden street where a man had been murdered the day before.
Blackburn magistrates heard Brian Michael Holden was shouting and banging on the door of the house next door to where the murder had been committed.
Holden, 56, of Cherry Lodge, Islington, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Deardengate Croft, Haslingden, on May 4. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months.
Gareth Price, defending, said his client had suffered for many years with alcohol related problems.
"This incident occurred close to the scene of a murder and officers were in the area as a result," said Mr Price. "He was knocking on the door next to the one where the murder took place because he knows the person who lives there."
