STEALING meat from the Co-op proved costly for a man who was "down on his luck."
Blackburn magistrates heard Steven Kenyon was unemployed at the time of the offence but had now got a stable address and a job.
Kenyon, 40, of Crabtree Avenue, Waterfoot, pleaded guilty to stealing meat from the Co-op on Bacup Road, Waterfoot. He was fined £186 and ordered to pay £85 costs, £30 victim surcharge and £17.69 compensation.
