MORE than 3,000 people took to Accrington town centre to enjoy its first bus festival.
Children, parents and bus spotters descended on the town square to look at retro and modern day vehicles.
People got the chance to sit behind the wheel of the buses as well as go on a tour around the town centre.
Models included a 1975 Leyland Leopard, a green Salford City Transport double decker, a retro red London bus, as well as Transdev, Pilkington vehicles and Cranberry Coaches.
Terri Bruce-Angland, who brought her son, Alexander, to the festival, said: "He loved the big red bus.
"It's a great chance to show children buses we used to go on and how they've changed.
"It's good to teach them a little bit about their town's history."
The bus festival was organised by Amazing Accrington and also included treasure trail activities and a memory wall for people to share their first experiences on the retro buses.
Murray Dawson, the festival's organiser, said: "We wanted to create a spectacle, a work of art.
"We wanted to fully utilise the town square space and we wanted to get big things in here.
"It's been a fantastic event and we've had some big crowds.
"We wanted to celebrate the former buses and the modern day bus and coach companies keeping us moving every day.
"I was really pleased with the festival."
