An 11-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after being knocked over by a car.
The accident happened at around 3.30pm on Accrington Road close to Audley Range, Blackburn.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and it is believed the child, who suffered a head injury, was airlifted to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.
Accrington Road was closed in both directions while police and paramedics dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We sent an ambulance, rapid response vehicle, air ambulance, an advanced paramedic and an operational commander."
The boy's injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
