TWO East Lancashire libraries will host performances of a special play about the effect of dementia on Friday.

The drama 'I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing' is written by library assistant Emma Decent,

The title comes from a phrase said repeatedly by the author's mother, an ex-librarian, in the early days of her dementia.

The play reflects a journey through time, mother-daughter love and life re-evaluation.

The first performance on Friday will take place at Rawtenstall Library in Queen's Square at 10am.

The second will be at Nelson Library in Market Square at 2pm.

They are part of Lancashire County Council Libraries Service's programme of events to promote Dementia Action Week and the support services it offers to sufferers.

The events will highlight the use of books to help people living with dementia, their families, and those who support them with a focus on drop-in information sessions and talks.

Throughout this week several libraries offer quiet hours and memory boxes.
