He was later charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, possessing a shotgun without a certificate and production of a Class B drug and appeared before Lancashire magistrates over the weekend. He will next appear at Burnley Crown Court on June 20.

Police said the victim, a man in his 30s, is recovering.

A man, 32, and a man, 40, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and cannabis cultivation were bailed until June 11.

A woman, 39, arrested on suspicion of GBH was released under investigation pending further enquiries.
