EGERTON slipped to defeat at Flixton in the Premier Division after home batsman Marlon Welcome-Goodman hit 124.
Batting first, the hosts totalled 286-6 with Luke Perry (52) also scoring a half-century, the pick of the Egerton bowlers Will Halton with 2-56.
In reply, the visitors were all out for 157 despite Daniel Partington’s 54 and Anthony Clegg chipping in with 35. Alton Beckford took 4-40 for Flixton to help seal the points.
There was better news for the two local sides in Division 1B with wins for both Edgworth and Astley and Tyldesley.
Edgworth won by five wickets at Westleigh after skittling the hosts out for just 68.
Joshua Fallows took 5-30, while Liam Watkinson (3-22) and overseas pro Umega Chathuranga (2-16) also got in on the act as the bowling attack restricted the hosts, with just three batsmen reaching double figures.
Christian Smith scored 24 in the reply of 70-5 with home bowler Adam Barclay doing his best to halt them with 4-34.
At Thornham, Astley and Tyldesley scored 267-9 with overseas amateur, James Loveridge, hitting 93, Alex Heaton scoring 59 and James Price weighing in with 42 – the pick of the home bowlers being overseas star Tiaan Van Heerden with 4-58.
A&T’s Price then took 3-36 and Chris Ware weighed in with 3-46 as the hosts were bowled out for 158 in reply, Christopher Heywood top scoring with 34.
