PEOPLE are invited to donate their loose change in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

The hospice launched their new copper boxes last week at its shop on Bradshawgate in Leigh which can be picked up by residents.

The boxes are available in its other 13 outlets including Atherton, Tyldesley and Hindley and some businesses.

Fundraising and lottery manager at the hospice Maxine Armstrong said: “Taking a copper box home is an easy and effective way to support the hospice.

“We’d like to see one of these in every home across the borough.

"If every adult in Wigan borough filled a copper box once a year with just £4 in loose change it would raise £1million.

“It’s a simple way to ensure that local people with incurable illnesses and those at the end of life receive the care and support they need.”

Boxes can also be picked up from businesses across the borough including Tamhair and Beauty in Leigh, Ena Mill in Atherton, Co-operative Funeralcare in Hindley.

Businesses willing to act as pick-up points should contact the hospice on 01942 525566 or email fundraising@wlh.org.uk.

A full list of pick-up points are available on www.wlh.org.uk.
