An awards dinner is to be held at Ewood Park to recognise the work of those making a difference in the community.

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, the official charity of Blackburn Rovers, will be hosting the event, which will reward some of the most inspiring individuals and projects within the charity.

Events organiser for the Trust, Jess Clegg, said: "As an award winning charity, we see a huge difference being made to the lives of those involved with our projects on a daily basis, highlighting how important it is that we continue to make such an impact within the local community.

"The awards evening will celebrate the achievements and successes of projects, participants and staff within the Community Trust."

In addition to presenting awards on the evening, the Trust will also be looking to utilise the dinner to raise vital funds to continue the work they do within Blackburn, Darwen and the surrounding areas.

Miss Clegg added: "We aim to raise funds from the event to develop a new project, specifically to support men suffering with mental health related issues in the area, who are the group at highest risk of committing suicide.

"To help raise the funds we're providing a number of unique opportunities for businesses to get involved through sponsorship of the awards evening, in form of individual award sponsors or headline sponsor of the event."

The awards dinner will take place in the Premier Lounge of the Rovers' stadium, on Friday June 28.

Any businesses interested in sponsoring the event or purchasing a table on the night should contact Jess on 01254 508194.

Tickets for the dinner include a drink on arrival, three course meal with coffee and a guest speaker.
