KENDAL'S impressive return to The Northern League continued after they won by 15 runs at Fleetwood.

The Auld Greys, who are now second in the table, were bowled out in the first innings for 128.

However, Chris Miller's second innings return of 6-52 saw Fleetwood all out for 113 off 42.2 overs.

After losing the toss and being put into bat, Kendal were reduced to 25-2 after Wes Marshall was bowled by Toby Lus, while Alex Ryder trapped Tom Benn LBW.

Ben Phillips and Saeed Bariwala posted what proved to be a crucial second wicket stand of 78, as Kendal pushed their way to 96.

However, Fleetwood regained full control of the innings after Declan Clerkin trapped both Phillips and Dan Wood LBW with Kendal reduced to 96-4.

Kendal struggled even more after both Joseph Dodds and then Edward Price were run out, while Neels Bergh trapped Saeed Bariwala LBW for 41 off 109 balls.

Bergh went on to return figures of 4-45 after the professional claimed the wickets of Chris Miller, Richard Dakin and Matthew Park, with Kendal all out for 128 off 44.4 overs.

Kendal, with a low total to defend, made the perfect start after Chris Miller bowled Fraser Parr. Ben Phillips then ran out Keegan Armstrong and Fleetwood were reduced to 24-2.

Miller closed with figures of 6-57 after taking the wickets of Rana Singh, Declan Clerkin, Adam Sharrocks, Mat Clark and Tom Wilson, while Fleetwood toiled on 47-7.

Berg and Alex Ryder frustrated Kendal with an eighth wicket partnership of 50, but Bariwala broke the partnership after he trapped Ryder LBW.

Fleetwood battled on but no one could stay with Berg. Wes Marshall claimed the wicket of Toby Lush, before Bariwala bowled Jack Wilkinson and Fleetwood were all out for 113 off 42.2 overs.

Neels Bergh closed undefeated on 51 off 101 balls.

Kendal host Fulwood and Broughton on Saturday before travelling to play Lytham in the Lancashire Cup on Sunday. The winners of the cup game travel to play Netherfield in the next round.
